Newcastle United fans have been reacting to Ivan Toney securing promotion to the Premier League yesterday with Brentford.
The Bees triumphed 2-0 over Swansea City at Wembley in the play-off final, making amends for their defeat to Fulham this time last year.
Thomas Frank’s side will now play in the top-flight in 2021/22, and neutral fans are curious to see how they’ll get on.

One man Brentford will potentially be pinning their hopes on for a successful campaign is Toney.
The 25-year-old scored 31 goals in the Championship to set a new record for most goals in a single season, and then added two more in the three play-off matches.
Toney, of course, was sold by Newcastle in 2018 to Peterborough United.
Little was made of the deal at the time, but Toney’s goalscoring exploits since his departure have obviously thrust him and the deal – supposedly only six figures (BBC Sport) – into the spotlight.

Fans have been discussing Toney on social media following Brentford’s promotion.
It seems that while there are some Newcastle fans who still resent the fact that Toney wasn’t given a proper chance at St. James’ Park, there are quite a few who defended his sale.
Many have cited hindsight as being a wonderful thing, and believe there was no telling how prolific he would become:
