Newcastle United have released new images of their latest training session – and two injured stars have been pictured.

Isaac Hayden and Ryan Fraser can both been seen back on the grass at the club’s training ground at Darsley Park.

The duo were with rehabilitation fitness coach Cristian Fernandez, and did their own work away from the rest of their teammates.

It’s positive news for the Magpies, who can still end the season on 48 points – which would be the club’s highest total since 2014.

It is unclear whether Hayden or Fraser will play any part of Newcastle’s final handful of games.

There will be no chance for either in tomorrow’s game against Manchester City.

The season finishes on May 23, so realistically it might be tricky for them to have any involvement.

Hayden has been out of action since the 3-0 defeat to Brighton, when he left the action early following a completely accidental fall from Yves Bissouma which left the midfielder crumpled.

Fraser suffered a groin injury whilst on international duty with Scotland and has missed the club’s last six games.

On social media, fans were pleased to see the duo back out on the grass.

People were particularly happy to see Hayden, with the 26-year-old a particularly popular figure at St. James’ due to his fantastic attitude and commitment:
