Newcastle United have announced plans as they prepare to welcome fans back to St James’ Park.
10,000 supporters will be allowed to attend Newcastle’s final home game of the season, as they welcome relegated Sheffield United to the north east.
The game takes place on May 19th, kicking off at 6pm. It will also be live on Sky Sports for those unable to get tickets.
It will be the first time fans have been inside St James’ Park since a 0-0 draw with Burnley on February 29th 2020.

Their first game behind closed doors was against Sheffield United at home, and strangely enough they will face the Blades when fans return.
But how can you get tickets?
Newcastle announce ballot plans
If you want the chance to go to the game, you must enter a ballot. The ballot is open between 10am May 7th and 10am May 9th.
Fans have 48 hours to register their interest, and the lucky 10,000 people will be contacted on May 11th.
If you are eligible for the ballot, you will be contacted by the club.
Priority will go to season ticket holders on the long term price freeze, or those who were season ticket holders for the 2019/20 season and have credit on their club ticket account.

Fans must have photo ID when they arrive at the stadium. If the ID does not match the ticket, they will be turned away.
Supporters wanting to attend must:
- Complete a health questionnaire within the 72 hour period before kick off
- Provide details for NHS Track and Trace
- Sign up to a new Supporter Code of Conduct
- Inform the club if their health circumstances change and refrain from attending the stadium on match day if possible exposure to Covid-19 is suspected
This will be a very different experience to the last time St James’ Park hosted a game of football.
Fans have reacted to the news on Twitter, with many feeling sorry for those who enter the ballot and are successful.
Newcastle have been a tough watch all season, meaning some supporters aren’t clamouring to return to St James’ Park.
