Have you ever dreamed of playing on the hallowed turf at St James’ Park? And do you also have lots of money?
Well, Newcastle United have the thing for you.
The club have announced their annual ‘play on the pitch’ plans, with fans able to enjoy a 60 minute game after the season comes to an end.
Between the 27th and 31st May, Newcastle are taking bookings for the incredible price of £1000 plus VAT per team. But you are provided with bottled water so it’s really a bargain…
Is this the chance of a lifetime? If so, start counting your pennies and get a team together. If you can afford it, it must be a great experience. Playing on the same pitch as your heroes must be incredible.
But considering it’ll cost you a small fortune, is it really worth it?
Toon fans have taken the opportunity to poke fun at the club’s announcement.
While some have asked if it is being done to find a new striker, others ponder whether Mike Ashley will make it free like he did season tickets.
Play on the pitch? I’ll pass…
Will a pro contact be offered to anyone who can score a goal

Do we get to sit in a wheelie bin full of water afterwards? Like the first team.
