Newcastle are reportedly keen on completing a deal to sign Celtic enforcer Kristoffer Ajer, according to the Daily Mail.

With the Magpies edging towards safety this season, attentions will soon turn towards the summer and the transfer market.

It’s fair to say that Newcastle will need to do some business and fans have been reacting to the possibility of Ajer rocking up at St James’ Park.

With Mike Ashley still overseeing club affairs, any link is taking with a pinch of salt by supporters.

It remains to be seen just how much the club will be spending and Steve Bruce will be anxious to find out.

The latest report claims that Newcastle will bid £8 million for the Hoops performer who could leave Parkhead this summer.

Ajer has been at Celtic since 2017, making 173 appearances for the Hoops and scoring six goals.

The man with 21 caps for his country is now attracting Premier League interest and Celtic could be resigned to losing him.

Ajer earns just £12,500-a-week at Parkhead and he’d be set for a big salary increase if he came to play in the Premier League.

Following the latest reports, here is what the Newcastle faithful had to say about interest in Ajer.
