Newcastle fans react as Ayoze Perez responds to Magpies fan on Twitter

Newcastle United fans have been reacting to a tweet from Ayoze Perez, in which he responds to a Magpies supporter.

Leicester City were in action last night against Brighton at the Amex Stadium, and left it late to take all three points on the south coast.

The Foxes fell behind after just 10 minutes when Adam Lallana struck, but Kelechi Iheanacho equalised in the second-half, before Daniel Amartey hit the winner on 87 minutes.

That Leicester were able to deny Graham Potter’s side from picking up a point was good news for Newcastle, who are level on points with the Seagulls.

The Magpies now have the chance to leapfrog them in the table when they face West Bromwich Albion in today’s lunchtime kick-off.

On Twitter, a fan wrote to Perez: “Tell Amartey that all nufc fans love him.”

The Spaniard, whom Newcastle sold for £30 million in the summer of 2019 (BBC Sport) replied: “Will pass that on.”

His response also featured a black and a white emoji, suggesting he’s still happy to have ties to Newcastle.

It seems Perez still holds Newcastle dear and is keen to see the club beat the drop.
