Newcastle United fans have praised journalist Henry Winter for his reaction to last night’s hugely frustrating takeover update.

The decision has been made due to issues with the disclosure of evidence.

It follows a big joint effort recently from Mike Ashley and Amanda Staveley, who called for the arbitration to be held in public.

It is the news nobody wanted, and means the saga will be drawn out even longer.

Last night, the chief football writer at The Times offered his reaction to the latest update on talkSPORT.

He said: “What have the past 18 months been about? It’s been about the fans and it’s about the fans raising money for the NHS. The fans showing support for their clubs from afar.

“It’s about the fans having seen off the Big Six, doing the Premier League itself as an organisation a huge thing.

“And now Newcastle United fans who have been brilliant during the pandemic, the money they’ve raised for foodbanks, for the NHS.. at some point you’ve got to show fans more respect.”

Winter went on to say that the development has scarred their season, and that there should been a resolutiopn before the club’s first Premier League game against West Ham United.

On social media, many fans, still furious from the announcement, heaped praise on Winter for his take on the situation:
