Some Newcastle fans are hoping to see Freddie Woodman get a chance at St. James’ Park next season, with the goalkeeper flourishing at Swansea City.
Woodman is nearing the end of a second loan spell with the Championship outfit, and it’s looking like his contributions will help the club finish in the play-off places.
The 23-year-old’s shut-out against Milwall yesterday was Woodman’s 20th clean sheet of the season (19 in the league, one in the FA Cup).

He currently leads the way for the Championship Golden Glove, with Tim Krul of Norwich City one behind with 18.
Swansea have also conceded the second-fewest goals in the division (31) after Watford.
It will be interesting what happens with Woodman this summer.
The player signed a new deal back in August, but there are two brilliant goalkeepers currently in the first-team in Martin Dubravka and Karl Darlow.

If Newcastle are to sell one of the two it would probably be Darlow, but it’s hard to see the club moving to offload him given his fine form earlier in the season.
Darlow could well push for an exit though.
On social media, supporters have been talking about Woodman, and it appears quite a few would like him to be given the chance to add to his four first-team appearances to date:
