Newcastle United could reportedly offer Steve Bruce a new contract if he keeps them in the Premier League – and many fans are livid.
That is the claim from the Telegraph, which explains that Mike Ashley could act after providing staunch support for the 60-year-old.

As things currently stand, Bruce’s deal at St. James’ Park expires in the summer of 2021.
He is determined to see his contract through until the end, despite the vast majority of supporters wanting him gone.
Newcastle are on a terrible run right now, and have won just two games since mid-December.
Performances, as well as results, have largely been awful, suggesting that the players have lost faith in the man guiding them.

Despite all this, the Telegraph seemingly have reason to believe Bruce is still popular with Ashley, and that the owner will hand him fresh terms if he keeps the club in the Premier League.
The report says that there are no immediate plans to negotiate a new deal given the current uncertainty of the situation.
Apparently though, he could get a wage increase if he keeps the club up, but a less generous compensation package if he is sacked.
