It just gets even more ridiculous day after day. According to report from Spain, Joselu’s move away from Newcastle might not go ahead because of the pending arrival of Jose Mourinho.
There are so many things wrong with that. El Gol Digital make the claim, stating that the Spanish striker has a deal in place to join Alaves. This does seem likely. A move to La Liga has been on the cards for a while, and the striker was spotted in the airport yesterday.
But what does Mourinho have to do with it?!
The Special One has been linked with the Newcastle job ever since the Bin Zayed Group emerged on the scene, with some reports claiming they want him to be manager once the takeover is complete.
But is a takeover even nearly complete? Who knows what’s going on. The latest statement from BZG didn’t clear anything up. If anything it made things even more confusing.
So the fact that El Gol Digital claim that Mourinho will be the next Newcastle manager is pretty ridiculous. But let’s go along with it for now. If he does take over, why on earth would he want to keep Joselu?

With all due respect to the lad, he’s no world-beater. While Mourinho may have given Joselu his Real Madrid debut, that doesn’t mean he’s going to be his main man at St James’ Park.
And there’s no reason to believe that Mourinho will be in the dugout next season anyway. What a strange claim from Spain.
