Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow has missed out an England call-up – and supporters aren’t happy.

The in-form stopper has enjoyed a decent campaign between the posts for the Magpies.

Recently, the 30-year-old has been displaced in the side by Martin Dubravka but his form was still pretty good.

Jordan Pickford is ruled out of the squad through injury and that had opened up a space in the squad.

Despite West Brom languishing in the relegation zone, it is their goalkeeper Sam Johnstone who will step into the breach.

Darlow has played 25 matches in the Premier League this season, keeping four clean sheets in the process.

Newcastle fans haven’t had a deal to shout about this season but seeing one of their players earn an England call-up would have been nice.

As it goes, Darlow has missed his chance and supporters feel he has been extremely harshly treated.

Here is what Magpies followers on saying on Twitter after the £25,000-a-week missed out on international honours.
