Newcastle United could be without Callum Wilson until October, in a potentially huge blow for the club.

The Magpies have made a bad start to the new season, losing three of their four Premier League games so far.

The team is also out of the Carabao Cup already.

It seems things are not about to get much easier, with Wilson looking at a few more weeks on the sidelines.

According to The Athletic, the initial prognosis for Wilson’s injury was up to six weeks.

Up next for Newcastle is Leeds United and then Watford.

On October 2 they face Wolverhampton Wanderers, and it remains to be seen if Wilson recovers in time for that clash.

It is a far from ideal situation that Wilson is out injured when the team have made such a poor start.

He is integral to Newcastle, and the quality in reserve just isn’t there.

Joelinton and Dwight Gayle’s goalscoring records in the Premier League leave a lot to be desired.
