It’s pretty clear that Newcastle are after a winger.

The past week has been dominated by talk of Allan Saint-Maximin from Nice. Then came word that Hull forward Jarrod Bowen is a target. Now it’s Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson who is doing the rounds, as reported by Sky Sports.

The Magpies are ready to go head-to-head with Aston Villa for the Wales international, who spent last season on loan at Derby. He was a key reason why they made it to the playoff final, ultimately falling at the final hurdle.

But it seems as though there’s no place for him at Liverpool, leading to speculation of a move away. Aston Villa haven’t been shy about splashing the cash this summer, while Newcastle have been as slow and ponderous as ever. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Villa race ahead here and conclude a deal.

But which of the three should be our first choice? We recently wrote about potentially signing two winger targets, but three would be a stretch.

Wilson would reportedly cost £15 million, more than Bowen who is rated at £12 million, but not as much as £20 million Saint-Maximin.

If Liverpool are willing to let Wilson go out on loan, however, that might make him a better option for the Magpies. Any chance to spend a bit less money…

But who do the fans want? We’ve picked out a selection of tweets debating which winger would be the best option.
