Newcastle might not be signing any players, but the new kits just keep on coming.
Last week we released the dark green away kit which got a run out against Preston, and this week the club have announced the new third kit as well.
While the away shirt is pretty nice, the latest release isn’t too pretty. Our third kit for the 2019/20 season is completely orange. Orange top, orange shorts, orange socks. If you don’t like orange, this isn’t the kit for you. The shirt has a bit of a pattern on it, which is meant to depict the St James’ Park roof.
Joelinton was wheeled out to show off the new away kit, but it’s the defenders who were drafted in to model this jersey, with Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar and Paul Dummett featuring on the promotional shot put out by the club.
The shirt will be available to buy on August 1st, for an extortionate amount of money like all the others.
Most fans are upset about the lack of transfer movement currently, and rightly so. We’re heading into the final week of the window and we’ve still only signed one first-team player.
A lot of the reaction to the kit was begging the club to announce some players, but others took a more comical approach and compared it to a Wolves shirt. If we can’t compete with them, we might as well at least try and look like them…
