Many season ticket holders have received emails from the club this morning, and plenty have rushed to renew.
But for some, the timing couldn’t be worse.
With key players on they’re way out, Rafa Benitez’s future in doubt and a rumoured takeover in the works, it’s unsurprising many supporters don’t want to commit.
To make things worse, Newcastle United have stayed fairly quiet on all three of the aforementioned problems.
But as soon season tickets are up for sale, communication no longer seems to be a problem.
Naturally, this has left supporters angry and frustrated.
As it stands, Newcastle are still at risk of starting the season without Salomon Rondon, Isaac Hayden or Ayoze Perez.
Rafa Benitez is merely weeks away from his current contract expiring.
And the club continues to take a no comment stance on the rumoured takeover from the Bin Zayed group.
To top things off, Newcastle season ticket prices have increased by around 5% across the board.
The deadline for season ticket renewals is the 4th of July, and it’s likely most fans will now play the waiting game.
It will be interesting to see how much season ticket renewals will be effected by the current situation.
But until the club is more forthcoming, fans will continue to be angry, and they’ve reacted very badly to this season ticket news.
Newcastle fans comment on season tickets

So @NUFC’s @premierleague fixtures are out, yet we’ve been provided with absolutely no clarity on our manager, ownership or that any money is being invested into the squad. But sure, a 5% increase on our season ticket is justifiable?
Imagine if this was Man U. Uproar. #nufc https://t.co/OpXKNKzN50

@NUFC how can you up season ticket prices without knowing if we have a long term manager and get complete radio silence from the club all year round . Howay man Newcastle this is just childish now

Nufc Box Office Dear Sir/Madam,
I will not be renewing my season ticket until I am assured that either of the following ( and ideally both is secured):
Rafa is staying
MA is leaving

Who’s the manager going to be? What’s happening with the takeover? What’s happening with player recruitment? You don’t seriously expect us to renew season tickets until we know what’s happening on each of these fronts, do you?

So that will be the season tickets that have gone up by 5% whilst you're not able to give us any news regarding who will be our manager at the start of the season or what the position is with a potential "takeover"?
