Dave Kitson and Newcastle takeover are not things you would expect to hear in the same sentence.
But for some reason, the former striker claims to have an exclusive on the goings on behind the scenes at St James’ Park.
The former Reading man was a commentator for Newcastle’s game against Arsenal last week, providing analysis for TalkSPORT’s international listeners.
And Kitson made a very interesting and bold claim, that has been obtained by the Chronicle.
“Well it’s funny – I can let you in on a little bit of an exclusive,” Kitson said on commentary.
“Don’t ask me how I know but I do. This club will be sold before the end of the season.”
The 39-year-old retired in 2014 and is now involved in the business side of football, as well as being a pundit. But why on earth would he know what’s going on at Newcastle?
The Newcastle takeover saga has seen various people made bold claims over the past couple of years, so fans aren’t particularly enthused with what Kitson has said.
We all want what he has said to be true, but why should we believe him?
The only talk of Mike Ashley right now is his attempts to buy Debenhams, and that hasn’t gone well at all.
Latest Newcastle takeover claims haven’t impressed fans

Is Dave Kitson not the famed “secret footballer”? Probably got another book on the way. It’s easier to just not even bothering to entertain the idea of a takeover at this point. Ashley has just had 150M flushed away in Debenhams. He’ll happily take the #NUFC money.

So Dave Kitson reckons we’re pretty much sold…. Ayee okay, heard it all before from ‘well connected people’ #NUFC

I’ve fell for this twice now 😩 can’t be doing it a third time.

Don’t exactly think Dave Kitson is the most reliable source in the world so I’ll take that as a pinch of salt. Ashley will still be here this time next year
