Some Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been calling for Florian Lejuene to be brought back into the fold at St James’ Park.
The French defender is something of an outcast at the club, having been sent out on loan for the season.
However, his good performances in La Liga have led to fans clamouring for him to be brought back into the squad.
Some fans didn’t want to see him loaned out in the first place, with supporters calling for him to get back in the team before his loan move was finalised, and now he’s proving that those calls were right.
The Newcastle Chronicle wrote an article detailing just how well he has played this season, but you don’t have to look much further than his stats to see how impressive he has been.
He’s averaging 2.3 interceptions and 1.4 tackles per game over in La Liga, and with numbers like that he could be a real asset for Steve Bruce’s side.
Whether or not Lejuene is given another shot at Newcastle remains to be seen, he may not feature this season unless the Magpies choose to recall him from his loan in January, but upon his return next season, Steve Bruce will have a decision to make.
