Bruno Guimaraes reached 50 games for Newcastle United in yesterday’s demolition of top-four rivals Tottenham Hotspur and as he marked the occasion on Twitter Mehrdad Ghodoussi added to the Toon Army’s euphoria.
Sunday’s 6-1 win over Tottenham already had Newcastle fans in a giddy mood, but then Mehrdad Ghodoussi‘s simple three-word response to Bruno‘s tweet just added to the good feelings.
Bruno Guimaraes tweeted: “Happy to complete my 50th games with this shirt! More to come” and Ghodoussi’s replied with “A lot more”

That’s exactly what we want to see. A public declaration that Bruno is going nowhere. I think as Newcastle fans we are all pretty confident of that fact anyway, no matter how many times the media will try and link him with a move elsewhere, but to see it in black and white never hurts.

It’s actually remarkable that Bruno has hit 50 games already. It feels like no time at all that we signed the Brazilian from Lyon for £40million and he released that masterpiece announcement video endearing himself to the fans immediately.
Performances like the one the lads put in yesterday will go a long way to convincing the likes of Bruno to stay, but more importantly it will turn the heads of Europe’s elite players who were maybe on the fence about the idea of a move to Newcastle.
