Newcastle United co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has sent a picture tweet ahead of tonight’s game with Southampton.

The Magpies are looking to continue their fantastic form of late and pick up three points against the Saints in the rescheduled Premier League game.

Newcastle can move to 31 points with a win tonight, which would put them 10 points clear of the relegation zone assuming Watford do not beat Wolves.

Around 3000 Geordies have made the trip down the St. Mary’s Stadium, and are hoping Eddie Howe’s men can get the job done.

The game could potentially have a bit of spice attached to it following Ralph Hasenhuttl’s suggestion that Newcastle should not get to field the players the signed in January.

Hopefully, the Magpies can use that narrative as fuel for a great performance on the south coast.

Newcastle co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has tweeted ahead of the game, showing him, his wife Amanda Staveley and Jamie Reuben en route to the game via the train.

The caption is ‘you’ll never leave me’.

One wonders if this is perhaps a subtle addressing of those recent rumours linking Reuben with Chelsea.

Bloomberg claimed Reuben was considering an offer to buy Chelsea, who have been up for sale.

Of course today, the owner of the west London club Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government meaning it cannot yet be sold.

Rumours of Reuben’s interest was later played down.
