Mehrdad Ghodoussi is a big presence for Newcastle United fans on social media.

The director is frequently active on all platforms in regards to everything Newcastle, delighting supporters with his messages.

Clearly someone who takes more than an active role in celebrating how well Eddie Howe’s team have done, watching Ghodoussi be so active on social channels is a pleasing sight for a fanbase so used to the lack of communication during the Mike Ashley years.

A decision-maker at St James’ Park, Ghodoussi has now made a big prediction of a certain Joe Willock.

Indeed, the midfielder recently posted a video on Instagram in which he looked back on what has been an excellent season.

One of a few players Howe has transformed since replacing Steve Bruce, the 23-year-old has even been tipped to break into the England squad off the back of his performances.

So influential in the Champions League challenge, Ghodoussi wrote in response to the video: “The best is yet to come.”

Willock surely has an even higher ceiling

At only 23, Willock is far from in his prime years.

While he has never matched the goalscoring form he produced during the initial loan to Newcastle in 2021, the former Arsenal youngster is arguably a much better all-round player these days.

Having made so much progress under Howe, it stands to reason Willock will get even better. Clearly, there are no guarantees in football but playing on a higher level, potentially with a higher standard of teammate, can only be a good thing.

With plenty of time to improve, these are exciting times for both Willock and Newcastle.
