Newcastle United’s wait for a first win of the season goes on, after a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace yesterday.
The Magpies went to Selhurst Park looking to get off the mark, following the sacking of Steve Bruce earlier this week.

Graeme Jones took the team, but there was little difference in the level of performance.
Christian Benteke put the hosts ahead with a towering header.
But the Magpies got back on level terms thanks to a fantastic overhead kick from Callum Wilson.
The striker recently returned from injury and has instantly got back amongst the goals.
His spectacular effort yesterday followed a header against Tottenham Hotspur the weekend before.
Palace then thought they had retaken the lead through Benteke, but VAR adjudged Marc Guehi to have committed a foul.
Another frustrating afternoon, and there were reactions afterwards from takeover figures Mehrdad Ghodoussi and Jamie Reuben.
Ghodoussi – Amanda Staveley’s husband – kept it short and sweet, writing ‘United’. He included a picture of the team in a huddle.
Reuben added: “Improved performance – on to the next. Thank you to the travelling @NUFC supporters for their tremendous support.”
Good to see these reactions
It is really refreshing to see those that own Newcastle reacting to the result.
It is something that obviously never happened under Mike Ashley.

Magpies supporters have been starved of a good fan-owner relationship for the longest time.
So it is important that these new faces keep a good level of communication.
So far on that front, they have been very good.
