Kylian Mbappe provided a hilarious reaction as French teammate Antoine Griezmann told him he’d signed him for Newcastle United on Football Manager.
A video is currently doing the rounds on social media showing the France squad traveling on a plane.
It shows Griezmann sitting beside Barcelona teammate Ousmane Dembele, with the former playing the popular football simulation game on his laptop.
It seems as though things have been going very well for the 30-year-old in his time in the hot seat at St. James’ Park so far.
He lists his achievements, which include winning the Premier League title, the FA Cup, the Champions League, the Super Cup and the Community Shield.
Towards the end of the video, Griezmann shouts over to Mbappe that he signed him for €134 million (or £115 million) as Newcastle manager.
Mbappe then replies: “Where? It is not very warm there eh?”
It is a dagger to the heart of Toon fans far and wide, many of whom have been clinging to the hope that Mbappe might one day pitch up at St. James’ Park as the first signing of a post-takeover era.
The, *very real*, possibility of Mbappe becoming a Newcastle player may be officially dead and buried, but at least he knows the club and where it is!
