It is going to be fascinating to see whether Leeds’ decision to part company with Bielsa will pay off. It’s definitely a big gamble.
The word is that Jesse Marsch will be the man to come in, and the former manager of RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg obviously doesn’t have any previous Premier League experience.

Leeds fans will desperately hope he can turn things around, but there is every chance he’ll struggle.
Bielsa’s recent results were really poor, but there is no denying how much all the players and fans loved him.
He was a hugely popular figure, and him leaving potentially leaves a dark cloud over the club.
It could be tough for the Leeds players to respond to a new man coming in at this stage of the season with totally different ideas to Bielsa.

It is far from an ideal situation they have, and taking the decision to change manager at this stage of the season is huge.
Things have been going very badly for Leeds in recent weeks and one could argue that Marsch – if he is to be Bielsa’s successor – can’t do much worse.

But it’ll potentially be very difficult to turn things around in such a short space of times.
Newcastle of course, are still fighting for their Premier League lives.
But disarray at a relegation rival surely has to be seen as a boost for their own survival chances.
