Some Newcastle United supporters have been reacting to last night’s big news that Sergio Aguero is leaving Manchester City at the end of the season.
The Argentine striker will depart the Etihad Stadium this summer after 10 years at the club following a move from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
The tributes have been coming thick and fast since the announcement, with many fans in agreement that Aguero is one of the best strikers the Premier League has ever seen.
The star has scored 181 times in the competition in 271 games.
The South American has been lethal over the years, and Newcastle fans know all too well the destruction he was capable of.
During his time in English football, Aguero scored 15 times against the Magpies in just 11 appearances against them.
That makes Newcastle, along with Chelsea, Aguero’s favourite opposition.
Perhaps the most notable game he ever had against the Toon was back in the 2015/16 season when he scored five goals in the space of just 20 minutes at the Etihad Stadium.
Quite simply, many Newcastle fans just cannot wait to see the back of Aguero knowing the havoc he has wreaked.
That said, there is still one final chance for Aguero to inflict more pain on Newcastle when the teams meet on May 12.
On social media, some Toon supporters were pleased he’ll no longer be the club’s nemesis, but there was also obviously a great deal of praise for a wonderful player:
