It’d be fair to say Callum Wilson enjoyed Tuesday night’s win over West Ham.
The England striker has endured a frustrating time of things since returning from the World Cup but followed up his goal against Manchester United with a brace in east London.
Wilson enjoys a fantastic record against the Hammers having bagged 12 goals in 13 games and even busted out the Macarena dance to celebrate, sending a message to Michail Antonio, with whom he conducts a weekly podcast.

That was a fantastic way to answer his critics.
While Wilson has deservedly dropped out of the Newcastle team after a sticky patch all while Alexander Isak impresses, the 31-year-old went some way to prove there’s still life in him yet.
In fact, such was the level of his performance, teammate Loris Karius was left speechless.
Karius’ brilliant reaction to Wilson on Instagram
Wilson took to Instagram to celebrate the win, surely made all the sweeter by his two goals
In response, Karius simply left two fire emojis while Sven Botman, Bruno Guimaraes, Mehrdad Ghodoussi, Harrison Ashby and, weirdly, Clinton Morrison were among those to have also commented.
How well did Wilson play against West Ham?

Crucially, it wasn’t just his goals that stood out.
According to FBREF data, Wilson won 100% of his aerial duels and recovered the ball twice while also drawing as many fouls.
Certainly, he’s given Eddie Howe something to think about. Though it’s difficult to look past Isak as Newcastle’s future, Wilson will not give his starting berth up without a fight.
Newcastle are on fire. Wilson can still play a massive part.
