A lot has been said about Kenedy this season.

The winger was sensational last season after arriving in January. He had an extra bit of flair and creativity that we had been missing. Along with the arrival of Martin Dubravka, Kenedy’s form was key in surviving in the Premier League last season and finishing 10th.

There was a massive buzz when he returned for another loan spell from Chelsea in the summer.

After a strong showing against Tottenham on the opening day, that buzz sharp disappeared. We all know what happened against Cardiff, and that was a crucial moment in Kenedy’s season.

Since then the Brazilian has shown moments of his genius, a lovely goal against Manchester United as well as a great assist for Salomon Rondon against Bournemouth.

However, we haven’t seen the same player who helped transform the Magpies last season. There were even talks of him going back to Chelsea in January, according to the Daily Mail.

But the 23-year-old remained in the North East, and has held talks with Rafa Benitez as he looks to get back in the starting XI. according to the Mirror.

So does Kenedy’s latest Instagram post suggest he has renewed confidence that he can be a success?

His post translates to: “Don’t forget you can: start late… start again… have many doubts… tremble of fear… fail a thousand times… and still succeed.”

While this may just be waffle for his Instagram followers, it could hint that he has belief that he can turn his season around and achieve his potential.

Kenedy certainly has all the tools. He’s inventive and brave, but has also proven at times he can work hard off the ball too. Remember that incredible last ditch challenge against Watford?

With Miguel Almiron arriving, getting back into the team will be even harder for Kenedy. But he has the talent, he just needs to re-find his form from last season.
