Jurgen Klopp has described reported Newcastle United target Divock Origi as a Liverpool legend.
The Belgian striker was Liverpool’s hero on Saturday in what was a frustrating game against Wolves.
The Reds needed a win to capitalise on Chelsea dropping points, but were struggling to find a way through against Bruno Lage’s resilient side.
But cometh the hour, cometh the man. In the 94th minute, Origi swivelled in the box and fired low past Jose Sa to give Liverpool a vital three points.

Origi was the super sub once again, and added another late winner to his catalogue of Liverpool goals.
After the game, Reds boss Klopp was full of praise for Origi.
“Divock Origi, the legend, finished it off and it’s a great story,” he said.
“He’s an incredible striker. For different reasons, he has not played that often but I hope one day he finds a manager that plays him more than I do.
“He’s one of the best finishers I’ve ever seen in my life. In this great team, with our [front] three, he doesn’t play all the time but he is a very positive boy, loves the club, wants to contribute, and he did in an incredible way.”
Could Eddie Howe be the manager Klopp is talking about?

‘Legend’ Divock Origi could be a good addition for Newcastle
According to the Northern Echo, Newcastle are considering a January move for the 26-year-old. Amanda Staveley reportedly believes they can tempt Origi with a move to St James’ Park. However, a deal could be tricky with Liverpool set to lose Mo Salah and Sadio Mane soon due to the Africa Cup of Nations.
That could hand Origi an opportunity in the first-team. It could also make Klopp reluctant to let him go. He may be even more reluctant now after he delivered another late show at Molineux.
Origi is a talented striker. We’ve seen him score huge goals for Liverpool, particularly in the 2019 Champions League winning campaign. He netted twice in the dramatic win over Barcelona, and scored in the final versus Spurs.
It’s those moments that make Origi a Liverpool legend. But could he achieve more at another club?

He’s never going to be the main man at Anfield. Klopp has basically said that himself.
But a move to Newcastle could be exactly what Origi needs. If his goals keep Newcastle in the Premier League, he’d instantly become a Toon legend as well.
However, he might have similar issues at St James’ Park, as Callum Wilson is an immoveable object up front at the moment. The number nine has already scored six goals this season.
Will Origi come in to challenge Wilson? He would certainly be a welcome arrival.
