According to the Daily Mail, Jonjo Shelvey is set to see a specialist about his ongoing thigh issue.
The midfielder returned to action recently after a spell on the sidelines, but has struggled to re-find his form. Shelvey is yet to start a game since his comeback, coming off the bench against Watford, Manchester United and Blackburn.
In each game he was at the heart of the action, for better and for worse.

But irregardless of his form, this injury news couldn’t come at a worse time for Newcastle.

Newcastle will already be without Ki Sung-yueng, while Mo Diame missed the FA Cup game due to injury.
Then you’ve got Isaac Hayden, who has publicly said he wants to leave the club, and proved it on Saturday with a disastrous performance.

Without Shelvey or Ki, Newcastle don’t look a side capable of creating chances. So we’re basically going into each game hoping for a bit of luck so that we can hold out for 90 minutes. When you’re playing against Eden Hazard, luck will only get you so far.
Fans will be praying that Shelvey returns from the specialist with good news, as this season continues to go from bad to worse.
