According to the Telegraph, Newcastle have spoken to John Terry during their search for a new manager.
The new Toon owners are still looking for Steve Bruce’s replacement, much to the frustration of fans who are desperate for a new man to come in.
Bruce’s departure hasn’t improved things on the pitch. The Magpies were lucky to draw at Crystal Palace, then were battered by Chelsea on Saturday.
Now it is being reported that Graeme Jones could remain in charge for the next game against Brighton.

Finding Bruce’s replacement is proving to be a lengthy process, made all the more painful by our horrendous Premier League position. Newcastle are now six points adrift of safety after just 10 games.
We desperately need a new manager. However, we’re not so desperate that we should turn to a man with no experience on the touchline at all.
Appointing John Terry would be an unnecessary risk by Newcastle
The Telegraph state that the new owners have spoke to Terry to see if he would be the right man for the job.

However, a quick glance at his CV would tell you that he’s not. Premier League clubs managed: 0. Clubs managed in total: 0.
Terry isn’t a complete novice in fairness. He did work at Aston Villa for three years as Dean Smith’s assistant.
However, it’s a big step going from assistant manager to the main man calling all the shots.

Appointing Terry would be a ridiculous risk. Yes, he’s a big name in English football. He won five Premier League titles as captain with Chelsea. But will that make him a good manager?
Quite possibly, but the club shouldn’t be prepared to take that risk as they look to navigate their way out of the Premier League relegation zone. One mistake like that could be fatal.
Terry could be great, but he could also be a disaster. And with our precarious position, it is an unnecessary risk that is not worth taking.
