Joelinton is a favourite among Newcastle United fans and he plans to repay their support with silverware.
Newcastle broke their club transfer record to sign Joelinton from Hoffenheim in 2019 for £40m, and he initially joined as a striker.
However, he has been reshaped under Eddie Howe into a powerful midfielder who has won the hearts of Newcastle supporters.
Joelinton has been “excellent” this season and has started every game for Newcastle across all competitions.
Eddie Howe was blown away by Joelinton‘s “special” display against Chelsea last week, with the Newcastle manager hailing his versatility after thriving at left wing in recent weeks.

Joelinton reveals Newcastle United’s trophy aims
Joelinton has now been at Newcastle for five years and has lived through the PIF takeover.
He has gone from being an instrumental part of Newcastle surviving relegation to a midfielder now chasing silverware at St James’ Park.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Joelinton reiterated his desire to win trophies at Newcastle and write his name into the club’s history.
When asked if winning a trophy is on his mind, Joelinton replied: “Yes, 100 per cent. That’s in all our minds, that’s in my mind, that’s my goal, I want to win something here and put my name in the history of the club and I hope we can do that in the years to come or this season.
“I love the club, I love the fans, I love the city.
“It’s not always easy, but I always try to give my best every day in training, every day I step on the pitch. I try to give everything I have to make this club succeed.
“That’s still in my mind, I always give my best and, like I said before, I want to win something and put my name in the history of the club forever.”
Newcastle United are on track to win silverware
Newcastle came excruciatingly close to winning a trophy under Howe when they reached the Carabao Cup final, and similar could happen this season.
Without the added stress of midweek European fixtures, Newcastle can focus on the Premier League and domestic cups.

Howe has made it clear with his team selections in the League Cup that he wants to go far in that competition.
Newcastle have already beaten Nottingham Forest and Chelsea in the cup this season and now find themselves in the last eight, where they will face Brentford in December.
