One of the best things after a Newcastle United win is seeing the players’ social media feeds and Joe Willock did not disappoint us with his comment on Bruno Guimaraes’ post.
Newcastle returned to winning ways at St James’ Park on Sunday, beating a spirited Wolves side 2-1 thanks to goals from Alexander Isak and the club’s top-scorer, Miguel Almiron. Isak picked up all the accolades but there was another man whose performance was sublime on his return to the starting lineup.
Deputising for the suspended Joelinton, former Arsenal man, Joe Willock was brought back into the fold and had a fantastic game. He can even feel a bit unlucky to not have found himself on the scoresheet after he saw his first-half effort spin wide after clipping Jose Sa’s outstretched boot.
Willock’s comment under Bruno’s Instagram was brilliant
Bruno‘s caption read: What a win! was exactly what we needed! Happy for the team! Back at St James park and 3 points! Howay the lads🖤🤍3️⃣9️⃣”
Even well after the final whistle, Willock was still showing his class as he replied to his midfield partner, Bruno’s Instagram post with with a top quality comment.
Willock commented underneath the £40million man’s post with: “We got Bruno in the middle🫶🏾”
Onwards and upwards now
It warms the cockles of my heart seeing the love this group of players has for each other, but it takes it to the next level when they use the fans’ chants to show that love. It helps to cement that bond between the players, the club and the fans that was so lacking just 18 months ago.
The togetherness in the camp is evident all over social media, but it’s more important that it’s shown on the pitch and that’s where it shone through on Sunday as the Magpies ended their run of poor form. Hopefully now they take that good feeling and that togetherness into Friday’s game against Nottingham Forest.
