Newcastle United recorded a massive win over Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.
Eddie Howe’s side followed up their brilliant victory against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday with another fine win at St James’ Park, with Alexander Isak’s first-half header enough to down Mikel Arteta’s men.
While the visitors did see a lot of the ball, Newcastle managed the game effectively and limited the Premier League title-chasers to only two truly golden chances, with Mikel Merino and Declan Rice both missing presentable opportunities.
It was a fantastic day on Tyneside and another indication that Howe is still capable of getting a tune out of this team, even despite a relative lack of investment during the last two transfer windows.
Naturally, praise has been rolling in for a number of Newcastle players. Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento were praised by Alan Shearer, while the Newcastle United manager spoke highly of Joe Willock.
Willock, meanwhile, was eager to see one of his teammates handed more respect.

Joe Willock calls for people to show Newcastle teammate more respect
Sean Longstaff was hailed as “magnificent” for his display against the Gunners by tallkSPORT pundit Stuart Pearce, who selected him as his Player of the Match.
Longstaff took to social media after the game to post a collage of himself in action captioned: “Great battle from the lads today. Enjoy your weekend Mags.”
In response, Willock wrote: “Put some respect on my boys name.”
Sean Longstaff knows what some Newcastle fans think of him
Willock’s response is all the more interesting in light of Longstaff’s post-match comments.
Indeed, the academy graduate admitted after the game that he was aware he split opinion amongst the fanbase, suggesting he knew some supporters think he shouldn’t start ahead of some of the perhaps more fashionable names in midfield.
Clearly rated by both Howe and his teammates, Longstaff is certainly showing the doubters exactly why he remains a key figure at Newcastle.
