Jim White his claimed that the next Newcastle manager is likely to be English to ensure the club has the best possible chance of avoiding relegation in the Premier League.
The Saudi-led consortium are on the hunt for a new manager to embark on the club’s new era.
This comes after the Magpies parted ways with Steve Bruce yesterday, just three days after he took charge of his 1,000th game in management. The Magpies faced Tottenham, but lost 3-2 at St James’ Park.
Graeme Jones is in interim charge for the trip to Selhurst Palace on Saturday and after that clash against Crystal Palace there are only two more Premier League games before the November international break.

Although Paulo Fonseca is reportedly keen on taking the Newcastle hot seat, TalkSPORT’s Jim White believes that the likes of Eddie Howe and Frank Lampard have an advantage over the former Roma manager due to their knowledge and experience of the Premier League.
But he also revealed that due to the new owners’ concerns surrounding the club’s Premier League status, any job offer would be on a short-term basis.
White said: “Some more information has come my way late last night. It is my understanding that at the moment the appointment of any new manager will only be on a temporary basis. It will only be until the end of the season.
“The Saudis, we are assured, are extremely concerned about losing their Premier League status.
“The feeling is there has got to be a proper reboot come summer and the next appointment would be an English manager with Premier League experience to try and ensure safety.”

White went on to add that if the club secured their Premier League status for next season, then they would become more adventurous with their next managerial decision and consider some of the biggest foreign managers around.
White concluded: “Thereafter they might go big. They stay in the Premier League then they might go big and that might be a foreign manager.”
It’s hard to gauge who the new owners are considering and ruling out, but the appointment has to be right. With 30 games left, we realistically need at least another 40 points to guarantee safety.
