Newcastle United are not the only club in the world dealing with FFP issues.
While they are believed to remain looming over Newcastle ahead of the January transfer window, it seems FFP constraints are playing their part elsewhere too.
Indeed, Chelsea are another team reportedly needing to sell to buy, having splashed such big cash over the past few windows.
The Blues could now reportedly be willing to sell Newcastle target Conor Gallagher as a result. The Magpies have been linked with the England international, who is believed to carry an asking price of around £45m.
At one point, Mauricio Pochettino was seemingly keen to keep Gallagher at Stamford Bridge but recent reports from journalist Pedro Almeida suggest the Blues could now sell the 23-year-old to Tottenham.

Responding to the rumours on X (formerly Twitter), Carragher hit out at the fact Chelsea could sell Gallagher.
He believes the midfielder has been one of Chelsea’s best players this season and the idea of selling him to fall in line with FFP underlines just how chaotic the club’s owners have run things.
“Gallagher has been Chelsea’s best player this season along with Cole Palmer, this just shows what a mess the new ownership have made at the club,” he wrote.
“Selling an academy player because it helps with FFP [sad emoji].”

If Chelsea are wanting to raise funds in January, Newcastle do not look like a realistic suitor at this stage.
Given the lack of funds available to spend at St James’ Park during the upcoming transfer window, the idea of Newcastle being able to pay much in the way of an up-front fee certainly looks unlikely.
Instead, England teammate Kalvin Phillips looks a much more realistic addition amid reports of a loan move from Manchester City as Eddie Howe looks to bring a No.6 into the club next month.
Sadly, it doesn’t look like Gallagher and Newcastle will happen anytime soon now.
