Jamal Lewis has given a positive word on Steve Bruce, following his move to Newcastle United from Norwich City.
The full-back arrived at St. James’ Park last summer after suffering relegation with the Canaries.

He cost the club a reported £15 million (Sky Sports), and hopes were high for him.
But it’s been a pretty poor showing from Lewis, although very few players can lay claim to having had a good season.
It’s been an awful campaign under Bruce, who is potentially the most unpopular manager Newcastle have ever had in the Premier League at this point.

Despite the negative football and shocking mentality, Lewis has praise for Bruce.

He said (via Chronicle): “He (Bruce) has been nothing but good to me and when I have needed an arm around the shoulder he’s been there.
“When we have needed a kick up the backside he’s done that as well.
“I think he’s been good.”
Niceness shouldn’t mask incompetence
There’s been plenty about how ‘nice’ Bruce is.

That’s all well and good but it just isn’t what Newcastle need in a manager.
The Magpies need someone who is tactically astute, positive in their approach and unafraid of making big calls.
Bruce is none of the above and the club is on its way to paying the ultimate price for persisting with him.
