Park Seung-soo has been one of very few positives for Newcastle United this summer and Jacob Murphy is impressed.
While these are very early days indeed, Seung-soo certainly enhanced his reputation with some exciting performances in pre-season.
Now, Newcastle are set to keep Seung-soo for the rest of pre-season before making a decision on his future.
The teenage forward impressed on his debut against Team K-League before coming on against Tottenham in the final game of the club’s tour of Asia.
Though it’s important not to get too carried away, the 18-year-old has seemingly left a meaningful impression on a senior Newcastle teammate in Murphy.

Jacob Murphy calls Park Seung-soo a magician
With the Newcastle United squad now back in England after their tour of the Far East, Seung-soo took to social media platform Instagram.
The 18-year-old posted a collage of images from the tour, attracting responses from a number of teammates.
Murphy was among those to reply, writing: “Magician.”
The likes of Alfie Harrison, Travis Hernes and Sean Neave also left messages in response.
The three players helping Park Seung-soo at Newcastle United
Seung-soo has revealed the three players who have helped him settle in at Newcastle, having worked closely together during the tour.
The forward namechecked Murphy, Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes as players he’s already grown close to.
That can only help his development. Moving to a big new club cannot be easy for a young player, but it’s promising to hear that he’s already settling in behind the scenes.

Seung-soo, of course, could yet leave Newcastle on loan this summer. A decision is still to be made but the early signs are certainly promising.
Eddie Howe certainly doesn’t boast the deepest of squads, so they cannot make a decision lightly. If the club rate Seung-soo, he needs to be ready to contribute in the first-team.
