Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy has spoken to NUFC TV about what Alexander Isak has brought to the club since arriving in August.
In a new interview with Jacob Murphy and Sean Longstaff released by NUFC via YouTube today, Jacob Murphy has spoken about what it’s like watching Newcastle‘s in-form striker, Alexander Isak in training.
The interview was shot after the team returned from Dubai and Isak had just helped himself to three goals in two games against Wolves and Nottingham Forest. Murphy was asked if fans are now starting to see from Isak what they get to see of him in training.
Murphy says there’s more to come from Isak
“We have the privilege to see it day in and day out,” said Murphy. “For how tall he is his footwork is unbelievable, so silky.
“He’s got a lot of different aspects to his game so playing on the wing with him centrally brings a lot of different dimensions to our game. So hopefully he can keep scoring the goals and the more time he’s out on the field the more we’re going to learn from him and the better it’s going to get.”

Since that interview was done, Isak has added another goal to his tally coming off the bench to score a brilliant goal against West Ham, becoming an internet meme in the process.
As Murphy said, the more we see of Isak the more the team will learn about how he plays and the better things will get, which must be a terrifying prospect for the rest of the Premier League.
Isak could challenge for top scorer honours next season
Isak’s versatility is going to be a dangerous weapon for Eddie Howe to wield next season. He could have opposition managers second guessing their tactics every week as Isak can play across the front three and be highly effective no matter where he’s deployed.
I’m backing Isak to challenge for the golden boot next season along with the Manchester City Cyborg, Erling Haaland.
Fans have question marks over his fitness after being out for so long this season, but his injury record before that was absolutely nothing to worry about. I think this was just a freak injury that has been managed properly by the club by not rushing him back.
Imagine what more from Isak could look like when he’s already drawing comparisons to Thierry Henry. So exciting!
