The Geordies are a passionate bunch of people, and many probably love Newcastle United more than their family or any other person.
Loving Newcastle United has been difficult in recent years, especially during Mike Ashley’s ownership of the club, with the Magpies suffering relegation twice and failing to even come close to any real silverware.
A recent survey has stated that out of all 20 Premier League clubs, fans of Newcastle are most likely to be single!
AskFans.co.uk recently conducted a survey to find out the demographic of fans supporting each Premier League club, asking 5,182 people from the UK aged 18 and over about themselves in relation to football, such as their gender, where they live and which social media platform they prefer.
Of the fans who supported Newcastle, 77% were male and 23% were female. Interestingly, supporters were asked about their relationship status, and a remarkable 81% of Toon fans stated they were single, more than any other club in the top flight of English football.
Either the passion people have for Newcastle is so strong that there is no room for anyone else in their lives, or the demands of following Newcastle and the turmoil that comes with it can make fans so unbearable that nobody wants to be in a relationship with them!
