Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes has now claimed that he would like more game time whenever he is with the Brazil National Team.

The 25-year-old has 13 caps and one goal to his name for his country, and delivered an excellent performance as Brazil beat Bolivia last week.

The midfielder recorded a wonderful assist for Rodrygo in their 5-1 victory and was outstanding in the middle of the park for Fernando Diniz’s side.

Speaking to UOL, Bruno has now admitted that he wants to feature more for his country, but understands how important the midfield role is under Diniz.

“I think I get a lot of call-ups, but not many minutes. I want to be more active in this cycle. I’ve got good numbers in the national team, but the important thing is to make the team play,” he stated.

“The midfielder is important, the fewer mistakes he makes the better the team play. That’s fundamental to Diniz’s style. I want to play more games in this cycle and I feel ready for the challenge.”

Newcastle have a potential superstar

Given his age, he has the potential to feature heavily for Brazil over the next few years, and could even become a regular starter in a team featuring stars such as Neymar and Vinicius Junior.

The midfielder has been nothing short of brilliant since his arrival from Lyon, and the club will hope to keep hold of him by offering him a new contract.

If Bruno stays in the long run and tastes success with his club and his country, then he can develop into a global superstar at one of the best National Teams in the world.
