Bruno Guimaraes has sent a request to Newcastle United fans ahead of the final 10 Premier League games of the season.
The Magpies were knocked out of the FA Cup on Saturday night, losing 2-0 to Manchester City courtesy of two deflected goals. It was a difficult watch, with Eddie Howe’s side barely laying a glove on last season’s treble winners, despite it being Newcastle’s biggest game of the season.
Now all Newcastle can do is focus on the league, and they have 10 games to save their season. That might sound dramatic, but it is the words of Bruno Guimaraes. That was his response on social media to Saturday night’s defeat at the Etihad Stadium.
Next up for Newcastle is a trip to Dubai, while other players jet off to represent their country during the international break.
The Magpies return to Premier League action on March 30th, when they face West Ham United at St James’ Park. And Bruno has sent a clear message to supporters ahead of that game in just under a fortnight.

Following Newcastle’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City, Bruno spoke to the Northern Echo. He turned his attention towards the Magpies’ next two games, which are both at home immediately after the international break.
“We have to look ahead to the next game and deliver,” he said.
“We have two games at home now, and we have to try as much as possible to get some wins. I ask the fans to support us as always, because we are going to give our best for Europe.”
Newcastle need St James’ Park to be a fortress again
Newcastle’s games against West Ham and Everton are must-wins, particularly the clash with the Hammers. They are currently seventh and sit four points above us in the Premier League. Our chances of eventually jumping ahead of them will be massively strengthened with a win on March 30th.
Playing at St James’ Park should give us an advantage, although being at home has not completely gone to plan as of late. Before the 3-0 win over Wolves, our last victory at St James’ Park was December 16th against Fulham.
Howe needs to make SJP a fortress again, and Bruno is calling on the Toon Army to give them all their support. The atmosphere needs to be electric against West Ham – we as fans need to do what we can to give the players an edge.
While the FA Cup exit is devastating, this season is still not over. We can still finish seventh in the Premier League, but that will be extremely difficult if we do not win our next two games.
That is why Bruno is calling on supporters to get behind them, as they do all they can to qualify for Europe.
