The chaos continues at Newcastle’s top four rivals Tottenham Hotspur, with Fabio Paratici receiving a 30-month worldwide ban.

Tottenham‘s managing director was initially given a 30-month ban from Italian football, but FIFA have now decided to make it a global suspension.

The punishment relates to alleged financial mismanagement from his time at Juventus, where he worked for 11 years.

Spurs are now seeking clarification about what this means for his role in North London. Sky Sports state that while he can’t conduct transfer business or speak to agents, he can attend club meetings.

It comes at a time when Tottenham are searching for a new manager, having parted company with Antonio Conte. The Paratici debacle is another unwelcome distraction for them, as they continue to challenge Newcastle for a place in next season’s Champions League.

Now a report from Football London states that Paratici was involved in an incident at St James’ Park last season that left some Newcastle fans furious.

How Fabio Paratici angered Newcastle fans in 2021

Tottenham have only played Newcastle once at St James’ Park since Paratici joined the club, and the 50-year-old was involved in a bit of an altercation in the stands.

According to Football London, some Newcastle fans complained about Paratici and asked stewards to remove him due to him and Spurs’ chief scout Steve Hitchen screaming at the referee. The report adds that this then led to a heated argument in the stands.

The game in question was the first one after Mike Ashley sold the club. Newcastle faced Spurs on October 17th 2021, with the new owners getting an incredible welcome to Tyneside.

However, it ended in disappointment with an abject performance from Steve Bruce’s side leading to a 3-2 win for Tottenham. Fans were despondent, while some were left furious by Paratici’s actions.

Football London add that he was involved in a similar incident at Stamford Bridge, which led to him being threatened by Chelsea supporters.

Paratici has been ruffling feathers ever since his arrival in English future, but now his future is very much up in the air as chaos reigns supreme at Tottenham.
