Newcastle United host Leicester in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
It’s been an inconsistent and frustrating start to the new season for Newcastle United, who followed up their excellent performance in the draw against Premier League leaders Liverpool with a listless defeat to Brentford.
It means Eddie Howe’s side are now four games without a win and the 4-2 loss to the Bees doesn’t bode well for next week’s Carabao Cup quarter-final.
Before that, though, Newcastle will need to get back to winning ways when relegation-threatened Leicester City travel to the North East.

On Wilson, Howe said: “I really feel for Callum because we see the work, the dedication, the professionalism that he’s shown, not just in the recovery from this injury, but throughout his career.
“To me he’s an inspirational player and I think when you’re in these moments for him, you have to understand how difficult this season has been for him.
“There’s been a couple of setbacks when he’s looked like he’s so close to training and playing regularly and building that resilience that his body needs to perform at this level. He has not cut corners, he’s gone through a vigorous process to try and keep himself fit.”
Leicester, meanwhile, are also injury-hit and could be without up to seven players. Harry Winks and Odsonne Edouard face late fitness tests while Issahaku Fatawu, Wilfred Ndidi, Boubakary Soumare, Ricardo Pereira and Jakub Stolarczyk are all out.

Prediction
Newcastle really need to get the win to restore confidence ahead of Wednesday as if results go awry this week then Howe could come under some serious pressure.
Yet, the players just can’t seem to get themselves up for matches against lower teams and Leicester fall into that category.
The Foxes have already improved massively under Ruud van Nistelrooy, though, and will feel they can get a result in the North East.
