Newcastle United will be looking to end their fine week in style when they take on Ipswich Town this weekend.
Eddie Howe answered his growing critics emphatically this week after guiding Newcastle United to a 4-0 thrashing of Leicester City and into the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
The Magpies comfortably defeated Brentford 3-1 on Wednesday to ease their way into the final four and one step closer to Wembley, with Sandro Tonali bagging a brace and Fabian Schar scoring.
Finishing the week with another victory would be the perfect Christmas gift for fans but a tricky Ipswich Town side scrapping for their Premier League lives pose a potential banana skin.
Here’s everything you need to know about the fixture.

Ipswich Town vs Newcastle United team news
Newcastle will be without star midfielder Joelinton for the match after he picked up his fifth booking of the Premier League campaign last weekend, but there’s a chance he’d be an injury doubt anyway after taking a boot to the face against Brentford.
They do welcome Sean Longstaff back to the fold though after he was unavailable on Wednesday due to his own one-game ban.
Howe will still be without Nick Pope for another three weeks due to a knee injury while Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles and Emil Krafth are still sidelined. Sven Botman has returned to action for the Under-21s but is likely still a couple of weeks away from the first team.
Ipswich, meanwhile, are without Chiedozie Ogbene, George Hirst, Janoi Donacien, Sami Szmodics, Axel Tuanzebe and the suspended Liam Delap.

Prediction
Newcastle have a tendency to follow up great results with poor ones this season but surely they won’t do so here?
Ipswich may have got a late win last time out but they are still struggling at the bottom of the table and will be without their two best attackers, Delap and Szmodics, leaving them with little fire power.
The last two wins should give Newcastle the confidence to go out and win at a canter once again.
Prediction: Ipswich 0-2 Newcastle
