Newcastle United fans on Twitter are excited by the prospect of signing Ahmed Musa after the Magpies were reportedly offered the chance of sign him for free.

The striker would add something to the Tyneside outfit’s frontline as beyond Callum Wilson they don’t have a consistently fit pacy striker in the squad.

Musa does have the pedigree to be a success at St James’ Park, he has experience playing in the Champions League, and he’s also scored at the World Cup.

Of course, this wouldn’t be the Nigerian’s first stint in England, he has previously played for Leicester City, but that move didn’t exactly go to plan, with the striker scoring just twice in 21 appearances.

However, you don’t get 95 international caps if you’ve not got something about you.

Newcastle certainly need some more firepower in the squad, and signing an international striker on a free certainly isn’t one of the worst moves they could make.

Whether or not this move comes to fruition remains to be seen, but some fans are certainly in favour of bringing the 28-year-old in at St James’ Park.

Fingers crossed his wage demands aren’t that high.
