Miguel Almiron feels very likely to leave Newcastle United this summer.
Plenty of players are fighting for their Toon future now, with a big transfer window on the horizon. It will be the first summer spend for the new owners, who already made a splash in January.
Multiple players are expected to leave Newcastle, including the Paraguayan speedster. TEAMtalk claimed last month that Almiron is one of seven players set to be made available.
That’s no surprise really. While there have been huge improvements from many players since Eddie Howe arrived, the same can’t be said for Almiron.

The 28-year-old has barely featured under the new manager, starting just five times. When he has played, he hasn’t impressed. Therefore, it’s no surprise to see him linked with an exit.
It’s even been claimed by Give Me Sport that Howe ‘doesn’t rate’ Almiron.
Newcastle prepared to make serious loss on Miguel Almiron
When Almiron joined Newcastle in January 2019, he cost a club record £21million. Now the Magpies are reportedly prepared to sell him for less than half of that fee.

According to the Mirror, Almiron is only valued at £10million.
The sad reality is that it would be brilliant business if we can get that kind of money for him. While he’s been a fan favourite ever since arriving, it’s fair to say he hasn’t lived up to expectations.
His end product isn’t up to standard, despite his endless endeavour.
While he’s often been played out of position, it’s been a long time since we’ve seen the best of Almiron.

With two years left on his current deal, getting £10million is the best we can hope for. He’s certainly done nothing to justify Newcastle making a profit.
Perhaps things might have been different if Rafa Benitez stayed at St James’ Park. He appeared to have found a way to get the best out of Almiron.
Sadly, however, this will simply go down as a transfer blunder by the Magpies’ previous ownership.
