Gabby Agbonlahor has shared his opinion on the difference between the two set of fans from Sunday’s EFL Cup final where Manchester United beat Newcastle United on the pitch but certainly not around it.

Newcastle fans were times better than Manchester United
It’s not often we get compliments from Gabby Agbonlahor, however, today he has come out and praised the Toon Army for their efforts at Wembley on Sunday.
Agbonlahor said to Alan Brazil on TalkSPORT: “I have a friend, he’s a Man United fan and he took his son and he said the Newcastle fans were ten times better.”

Gabby couldn’t resist a dig
It was clear from the TV coverage that Newcastle’s fans had gone above and beyond to support their lads on the pitch, decorating one half of Wembley in black and white before kick-off and then again as full-time approached, despite the fact that the game was gone for the Magpies.
Manchester United, meanwhile, provided scarves for their supporters, but compared to Wor Flags‘ efforts, it looked almost embarrassing.
Agbonlahor also pointed out that the celebrations at full time seemed very low-key given that it was Man United’s first silverware in six years when they won the Europa League trophy.
Mind, Gabby still managed to find a way to make sure Newcastle fans didn’t get too carried away with his words when Alan Brazil questioned if he was trying to suggest that Newcastle’s support made them a bigger club than Man United, to which Agbonlahor quickly said: “No, I’m not. They’ve got a bigger fanbase, Man United, but they weren’t great at the weekend”.
