Some Newcastle fans on Twitter have been lavishing praise upon Joelinton for his performance in their 2-0 loss against Chelsea.
The Magpies may have been unable to overcome the Blues, but the fanbase believe that there is one bright spark in the shape of Joelinton.
The Brazilian put in a solid shift against the London club, and despite not finding the net he was always looking to make things happen for Newcastle.
He made two key passes, which is more than any other United player managed, while his tally of two dribbles was only bettered by Allan Saint-Maximin.
Joelinton has always been something of a scapegoat at Newcastle, but it was good to see that fans were willing to acknowledge the good work he did against Frank Lampard’s side, even if he didn’t manage to get his name on the scoresheet.
A number of fans stated that he was the Magpies’ best player today, while others said that he’d done well considering the fact that Chelsea largely outplayed Newcastle.
Supporters can’t be happy with what they saw at St James’ Park as the Tyneside outfit lost 2-0, but Joelinton’s showing certainly seems like it was a silver lining for some Newcastle supporters.
