One name no one expected to come up in the Newcastle takeover saga was Kim Kardashian.

But thanks to Bloomberg, the reality TV star is now in the fold…sort of. According to Bloomberg, Carla DiBello is working with the Saudi Arabian Sovereign Wealth fund to try and buy Newcastle United from Mike Ashley.

And who is DiBello friends with? Non other than the Kardashians.

The report states that DiBello is working alongside Amanda Staveley, and that she may work for the club in an advisory role if a deal goes through.

The entrepreneur has made frequent visits to Saudi Arabia in recent times, Bloomberg add, attending the kingdom’s annual investment event last October.

In reality, the fact she is friends with Kim Kardashian is irrelevant. Even if a takeover goes through, I highly doubt Kim will be seen shopping in Eldon Square ahead of her husband Kanye West’s gig at St James’ Park.

But the fact more information has come to light is interesting, especially when you consider where it has came from.

The Wall Street Journal first broke the takeover talk, and they are another publication like Bloomberg who don’t have any real interest in Newcastle United.

Does this mean the report is more trustworthy? What would their motive be for reporting the takeover talk?

Fans will debate what it all means, but until something official comes from Newcastle United, it’s all just speculation.

For now, fans have had a bit of a laugh at the latest report, somewhat tickled by the reported emergence of Kim Kardashian’s mate.
