Despite losing three out of four games at the start of this season, Eddie Howe is still not under pressure at Newcastle United according to Fabrizio Romano.
It’s far too early in the season to be talking about the managerial sack race, but even if it weren’t it would be very unlikely that Newcastle United‘s Eddie Howe‘s name would be in the frame even with three defeats on the spin to his name.
Losing three in a row is never a good look, but when you break it down and look at the four games separately it’s not as bad as it seems. Every team we have played so far caused us problems last season, and Brighton aside, in each other game we’ve improved on the previous season’s correspondent fixture.
Fabrizio Romano denies Howe is under pressure
We’re only a point worse off now than we were at this time last season. So there’s really no need to be panicking just yet.
To reinforce this point, Fabrizio Romano has squashed any talk of Eddie Howe being under pressure at Newcastle.

Writing for Caught Offside, Romano said: “It’s not been the best start to the season for Newcastle United, who have lost three in a row since their opening day win over Aston Villa. Of course this is a disappointment after the superb achievements of last season, but I think fans can be calm.
“My understanding is that Eddie Howe is absolutely not under pressure, it’s all quiet. The Newcastle owners love the manager and there are no issues at the moment.
Eddie Howe will be given every chance to succeed
“Of course Howe will have time to play Champions League football as Newcastle coach, there are no messages in a different direction at this moment in time.”

At the end of the day, all the good that Eddie Howe has done at Newcastle will have bought him plenty of time to navigate the bad times without fearing the chop.
While we still haven’t really seen the ruthless side of the new ownership when it comes to staff, it will be there and if the board lose faith in Howe there’s no doubt they will swing the axe, but I feel with Howe he will get a few chances before that happens.
