The volley was the winning goal in a 1-0 victory against Accrington Stanley. Rotherham sits at the top of the table in League One. They’re six points clear of 2nd place Wigan Athletic, but the Latics have three games in hand on them.

Barlaser seems to have found his level at League One

As previously mentioned, Barlaser is one of the stand-out players, not only for Rotherham, but in League One as well. At Newcastle, he started off more as a winger and eventually moved into a central midfield position.

His career for the Millers has gone on, the midfielder has dropped into a deeper role. So nowadays he’s playing more as a holding midfielder, not what some Newcastle fans would have expected.

Rotherham is pushing for promotion back to the Championship. Barlaser will want to prove he can make the next step up in the league above. He has played with Rotherham in the Championship before but didn’t quite get to grips with it.

However, with more experience under his belt and more confidence in his game. The 25-year-old will be optimistic should Rotherham get promoted.
